Holland is also known for its stunning windmills.

In Amsterdam many of the houses were built in the late 19th century. some of the wooden façades are even older, however, dating back to the 1400s.

Much of Delft City was built in the 1600s. On April 23, 1653, the civil marriage of Jan Vermeer and Catharina Bolnes was celebrated in the Delft city hall.
