Piddletrenthide |
|||
Piddletrenthide is in southern England and is one of the most scenic villages in Dorset. It is also one of England's oldest cities, and is mentioned in the Domesday book. It's Anglo-Saxon meaning is "Clear Stream That Runs Through Thirty Acres".
One of the oldest houses in Piddletrenthide is still a residence.
The Piddletrenthide All Saints Church dates to the 15th century.

Why go to Piddle if not to see the fertility god? There he is in the background in all his - um - glory. It is unknown when this "artwork" was made, but it dates back at least several hundred years.
