HOREMHEB AND WIFE AMENIA

The name of Horemheb's first wife appears in his tomb in Memphis. She is buried in the tomb originally intended as Horemheb's before he became Pharaoh. Very little evidence remains of the Aemnia, although there is an inscription over the lintel of the tomb that indicates she died sometime during the 4 years that Ay was Pharaoh.

Here, in Horemheb's tomb in Saqqara, Horemheb is being given golden necklaces, possibly by a previous Pharaoh such as Ay.
