Kiya

Kiya
Almost certainly the mother of Tutankhamun. Much of Kiya's funerary equipment has survived because it
was re-used in the tomb known as KV55. The sarcophagus found in KV-55
and which held a mummy other than Kiya's was clearly made for her. Her
Canopic Jars were also found there carved with the very image of her face.

Although the novel implies that Akhenaten had only two wives,
in fact he had dozens and dozens, like his father. A relief in the tomb
of Ay at Amarna suggests that Akhenaten had other wives such as Ipy, meaning
"A Royal Ornament and true Favorite of the King." But Kiya was
certainly the most important of these secondary' wives. In Amarna she
had an entire palace as well as a temple named after her.
