
Jamaica has a fascinating mix of foods, races and cultural traditions. The Arawak and TaĆno settlers (2000 BC) named the island Xaymaca, meaning the “Land of Wood and Water”.
Later, when the island was colonized by the Spanish and then by the British, it became known as Jamaica. Here are a few photos of this land of wood and water.
